The Cupra Tavascan is set to redefine the high-performance electric SUV segment, combining futuristic design with advanced powertrain technology.
Based on the same MEB platform as other electric models from the Volkswagen Group, the Tavascan continues the Cupra philosophy by offering a sporty character and considerable autonomy, suitable for everyday driving, but also for longer journeys.
The Tavascan concept initially shown suggests aggressive body lines, with a pronounced rear spoiler and headlights with a light signature in the shape of an “X”.
With higher ground clearance than a hatchback, this electric SUV is designed to offer increased comfort and generous interior space. Sculpted side wings improve aerodynamics, directing airflow to reduce drag and increase efficiency.
Cupra Tavascan: electric performance and extended range
On a technical level, the Tavascan should include two electric motors, one on each axle, guaranteeing all-wheel drive and a cumulative power of around 300 hp or even more, depending on the final production version.
The instant torque turns acceleration into a prompt experience, and the weight distribution under the floor leads to minimal roll in curves.
The battery, with an estimated capacity of around 77 kWh or more, will ensure a range that can exceed 450 km, depending on traffic conditions and driving style.
The battery thermal management system and DC fast charging, possibly over 100 kW, allow powering from 0 to 80% in around 30-40 minutes.
In Eco mode, the software reduces maximum power and sets the energy recovery during braking more aggressively, extending the range.
Cupra Tavascan interior: sporty and high-tech
The interior aims to be a mix between minimalism and sportiness.
The large central touchscreen controls the main functions of the car, and the digital instrument panel can display data on consumption, navigation and performance parameters.
The models come equipped with sports seats, made of sustainable materials and customizable ambient lighting.
