Order your carThe Lamborghini Miura, launched in 1966, is widely recognized as the first modern supercar, revolutionizing the automotive industry with its transverse mid-engine layout and spectacular design.
The brain behind this bold project was engineer Giotto Bizzarrini, and the iconic silhouette was designed by Marcello Gandini, working for the Bertone design house. The result was a car that forever changed the public's perception of performance and luxury.
The Miura stands out with its flowing lines, a low front hood and characteristic optical blocks, often referred to as "Miura genes". The oversized rear hood hides the V12 engine, and the side air intakes, together with the grille located immediately behind the windows, ensure efficient cooling.
The elegant proportions and aggressive appearance, along with the way the front and rear hoods open, set a standard for the supercars that followed. Even after many decades, the Miura remains a visual spectacle, admired by enthusiasts and collectors around the world.
From a technical point of view, the Miura adopted a 3.9-liter V12 engine, initially generating around 350 hp, later increased to 385 hp in later versions, such as the Miura S and SV. The central engine configuration provided optimal balance between the axles, significantly improving handling.
Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h could be achieved in around 6.5 seconds, an astonishing figure for the 1960s. The five-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive required skill, but still today it offers an authentic classic supercar feel.
The interior of a Lamborghini Miura reflects its era, with low seats, a dashboard loaded with analogue instruments and a large-diameter steering wheel, typical of the period. Forward visibility is relatively good, but the high rear end limits the field of view in the rearview mirror.
When you drive a Miura, you have a direct connection with the car: every vibration and sound of the V12 engine enriches the experience, turning every kilometer into an emotional journey.
