With the introduction of the 911R Porche noticed that there was a great demand for a GT car without a wing. A car thatly represented a more sober Porsche but that under the hood offered that all they's "regular" GT3 had. When it was time for the 991.2 to get a GT3 there was no 911R we saw the new name for the first time. Touring. Optional package 032. And then came the 992 GT3...

This example, in classic Jet Black Metallic, is to the untrained eye just another Porsche and that is what is what the Touring's selling point.
